A very simple but effective device. Easy to use and excellent quality. I linked up to my Denon DVD player through the scart socket and was delighted by the picture quality. Incredibly simple to use but make sure the battery is powered up as it does drain quite quickly.

Once, this DVR snap-on worked as it should but, every other time, it's stopped recording from the source after a few minutes and crashed my Archos 5 tablet, which then reports a RO (read only) error, resulting in bad sectors in the tablet having to repaired in Windows on the PC. If you only intend to use this gadget to record, say, short music video clips (5 minutes seems safe) from TV or DVD it's fine but if, like me, you intended to use it to copy whole DVDs or TV shows to your Archos 5, it doesn't seem able to do that. Perhaps, for that purpose, the DVR station is the proper solution though, in my case, it didn't appeal because it ties you to the mains, whereas the DVR snap-on is portable since it can also run off the tablet's battery. To be fair, I haven't spent a lot of time investigating my problem with the DVR snap-on and it could be that the weak link is my tablet rather than the snap-on because my Archos 5 quite often crashes anyway even when just playing back movies or accessing the web.
