Product Description August DA900C is a newly developed model. It is a digital and analogue TV and digital media player and recorder with integrated card reader and USB jack. It receives over 40 Freeview channels, 5 analogue channels and all digital radio stations and plays video, music, photos in MP3, WAV, MPEG4, AVI, JPEG formats directly from memory cards, USB sticks and from external media with USB interface. It also supports real-time and scheduled Freeview TV recording to an USB stick or external hard disc.
It is an ideal portable TV and media player for holidays, cars, boats, bedrooms and kitchens and can also output TV, video and photos to a large sized screen in your home working as a Freeview box and digital media player. It can also be used as a monitor for your game consoles and other video players
Accessories include: Mains power adaptor (100-240V 50/60Hz), Stand for both vertical and horizontal positions, A/V cable, External portable antenna with magnetic base, Telescopic antenna, Earphones, Remote control with battery and User manual.
Please note that there may be difficulty to receive Freeview TV signal by the included portable antenna in some areas where the signal is not sufficiently strong. This is due to that the Freeview service (freeview.co.uk) in the UK does not fully support portable TV antenna at present. The reception will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover Program (digitaluk.co.uk). A signal amplifier or booster may improve reception capability in regions where the signal is marginally strong. (Please note that reception capability may also be affected by various factors such as proximity to Freeview TV/digital radio transmitters, tall building structures, thick walls, ceilings and etc.). A rooftop TV aerial may be required to watch Freeview channels in regions where the signal is insufficient for a portable antenna.

Brilliant TV September 26, 2008 Becky G (Enfield, England) 43 out of 45 found this review helpful
This August tv replaces my 10 year old 14 inch Sony CRT TV and I am so glad I did that. Very smart design, it is perfect size for my bedroom. The picture is brilliant, although the sound seems a little bit tiny for me when it is noise outside (I live close to the main street), but what can you expect more from such a small device.
It only picked up a few freeview channels and four on analogue using the small antenna supplied, but once connecting to my roof aerial, it easily picked up all the freeview channels and radio. It has built-in card reader and usb port, but I am mainly using the usb function to listen to the music downloaded from the internet.
I found the sleep and wake up function very useful, I like falling asleep while watching TV, I use the timer so that I can watch a show or movie while drifting off without shortening the life of the TV or worrying about my electricity bills. It can also be set up to turn on automatically or pop out a message to remind me the show I want to watch on a different channel.
The interactive teletext service is very useful as well, easily catch up with the latest news in the world, sports, or what will be on.
Overall, I am very pleased with this device and look forward to spending a lot of time with it.
Brilliant tv, love it! August 29, 2009 Kate Young (England) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I saw a review of this 9 inch tv on Sunday Times and thought this would be the ideal set to replace my 14 inch CRT in the kitchen. I was really pleased with my choice when I opened the box. The tv is in a shining black finish, very sleek and modern design, and it saved a lot of space for me in the kitchen.
The picture quality is unbelievably good for such a small unit. It can receive both analogue and freeview tv, but I only use the freeview function. It struggled to get the freeview channels using the small antenna supplied but no problem at all when connected to my house aerial.
The recording function is really amazing, you can record your favourite programme and watch it later on this set. I am going to buy an external hard drive so I can get more use of this function. The tv can also be used to show photos from the card reader and usb connection, it actually looked more like a photo frame when I first time saw it as it is so slim and compact and does not look like a traditional tv at all.
Overall, this is really a clever and brilliant device, very good value for money. And I look forward to spending a lot of time with it.
Excellent Small Digital TV March 26, 2010 A Church (South Derbyshire England) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this after reading other reviews and can honestly say I am not disappointed at all. It is very easy to set up, I had have no problem with just using the small digital arial that was provided. You should know already if your reception is going to be good or not by other TV's you have. It does exactly as it says, you can use to watch photo's, the timer rec was so easy to use, records onto usb stick obviously, the TV needs to be switched on. The EPG guide works well. It looks great and I am so pleased I made the purchase, great for watching in bed etc. Sound a bit tinny but that is not a problem. You expect that from such a small TV if you use the headphones then sound perfect. Overall great value and so portable.
How to get better sound quality from your August TV. June 15, 2010 Mr. W. Shaw 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
On reading people's reviews on these brilliant little August tv's, the sound quality is poor, but help is at hand!!! if you purchase a resonably priced(say around £15.00) 2+1 sub woofer & speakers and connect them to the headphone jack on the tv.....WOW what a difference..... and whats more you still have control of the volume through the tv's own remote control switch, try it it worked for me.
PS. This will also work on any make of digital tv no matter how big or small, the only suggestion I would make is the bigger the tv the bigger the 2+1 you will need but you don't need to spend to much money, this will also work (with a little extra wiring) on Sky and Freeview receiver box'es as well.
