One month in.... June 20, 2010 Rikkig (Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this unit for about a month now, and no problems so far. Don't notice the "lag" from the remote, and it gives superb results on my 46" Sony Bravia. Plays everything I've tried so far, including some that won't play on PC. Left it running for several days continuously and no real noise to speak of, so no problem being in the TV room.
Only moan - I tried copying files over the network to the unit and it is SLOW - almost an hour per DIVX. I have no idea why, but just gave up and used USB and it was fine.
This is replacing a no-name unit which broke, so the 3 year warranty is a plus.
It would be nice if when browsing for videos the music folders etc didn't show, but no real issue there.
Overall 5 stars - at arrived quickly and it does what it says on the tin - I'm happy with it.
Worth the Price May 28, 2010 K. A. Salaam (Kent, UK) I gave it to my uncle for his birthday, and he has since been singing praises of the little gadget. So I say it is worth it!
Iomega Multi Media Player June 15, 2010 Akinwale Omole Generally a lovely product save for the fact that it has a list of preloaded websites which you can access and I am not sure if you get live feeds from those websites. Asides from that I think it's worth every dime I paid for it.
Iomega Screenplay director 1TB June 14, 2010 Ivo Scotch (UK, Bristol) very good product, playing lots of video files (not all) HDMI upscaling not so good but still watchable, bit slow on start up loading would say waiting time up to 3min. but when loaded works fine. good for the price 1TB video player!
Great if you know how to use it June 9, 2010 Mark Ronan This is a great product, all i hear is people complaining about not playing mkv but it has played every file ive come across but that could be the firmware update,so ive had no problems get it you wont regret it.It doesnt play dts audio but all you have to to is convert the audio to ac3 with popcorn audio converter and there you are.Ive watched several 720p bluray rips on this with no problem so get it,its the best out there.
