bought a 4GB one of these for my 6 year old daughter and, at first, I thought it would be too dificult for her to understand, so I didn't give her the instructions, which were poor. Fiften minutes after opening it on Christmas morning, she had worked out how to use it herself with no assistance. Because she had no instructions, she just started exploring the menus herself and had managed to load music on and play it much to my amusement. After a bit of coaching from me, we had converted her CD collection to MP3 format and loaded it on to the player for her (it has to be converted to MP3 format first - we downloaded a program from the internet called FREERIP which was a dawdle to use).
Her best friend got an Apple iPod which is three or four times the price of this item and, as it was only meant to be a stocking filler, I couldn't justify spending so much. However, they can't tell them apart and she hasn't put it down since Christmas - no other gift has captured her imagination for so long. She has discovered music in a big way now. The sound quality for such a cheap item is breathtaking.
I would give it 5 stars for quality, 5 stars for ease of use and 5 stars for value (more if I could), however, the instructions are basic at best.

My son wanted an IPod for his 6th birthday, and this fits the bill superbly. It looks amazingly like an IPod Nano, comes in a range of lovely colours with an LCD screen and simple USB charger and is a fraction of the price. He's over the moon with it. Plus the service was excellent.

I bought this as a present for my wife and we are highly delighted with it. Neither of us is particularly technically minded but we have figured out how to work it with the help of the online manual. Just keep pressing things to find out what they do, you can't break it by pressing buttons. The tone and volume are excellent as is the quality of sound. As stated, the radio works best outdoors, but again it is remarkable quality of sound. Transferring tracks from CD is a doddle (just copy and paste the file) and we are just starting to download tracks from the net for it too. The service from JSM was great too with fast delivery and simple e-mail to select the colour.
Oh, and if this was not a good enough review as it is, I've just ordered another one for me!

I bought this as a present, I wanted something cheap but with a big memory. I tried the 4gb and am well impressed. Its easy to copy files to the device and its very user friendly.it can play songs on order or random play. I have an ipod device for connecting it to the car radio it works with this device with no problems. The video player is good but the radio isnt the best. I would go for the 8gb one as is bigger memory and better value.
The customer service is really good as well, I emailed them over the weekend on a Sunday, they replied the same day with useful information.

Bought this MP4 player, nano style for my daughter's birthday. My daughter thinks she has a nano ipod (it looks like one and performs like one) apart from video and camera capacity. The sound quality is superb and the price is fantastic. Extremely helpful company a pleasure to deal with, any problems dealt with speedily and professionally. Well done guys, thoroughly recommend the product and the company. My daughter is as pleased as punch and so am I.
